Cannabinoids and Pain Control: Is there a link?

Hemp and its cannabinoids have been used to treat pain as far back as 2900 B.C. This is according to a study called “Cannabis and Pain: A Clinical Review” written in May of 2017. More recently, scientists have discovered that certain components of hemp, including CBD, are responsible for its pain-relieving effects.
Researchers think that CBD interacts with receptors in your brain and the immune system. These receptors are tiny proteins attached to your cells that receive chemical signals from different stimuli and help your cells respond. Also, this creates anti-inflammatory and painkilling effects that help with pain management. Finally, this means Cannabinoid oil may benefit people with chronic pain, such as chronic back pain.
