You Can Enjoy CBD’s Amazing Benefits

CBD Oil (Cannabidiol) is becoming a prevalent all-natural Remedy for several common ailments.

Cannabidiol is better known as CBD oil, is one of over a hundred chemicals called cannabinoids, which are all found in the cannabis or marijuana plant, known as Cannabis sativa. From one trusted Source. Cannabis Sativa is the world’s oldest cultivated plants.

Evidence suggests that early human use of cannabis in Europe and East Asia goes back as early as Holocene (ca. 8,000 cal B.P.). However, there is no written record of the use of cannabis until the 6th century B.C.(ca. 2,600 cal B.P.).

Hemp In The 1900s

Many medical practitioners in the early 19th-century discovered several medicinal properties of the cannabis plant after it found its way to Europe during the colonial expansion into Asia and Africa. An Irish physician, William B. O’Shaughnessy, working at the hospital and medical college in Calcutta, was the first to introduce cannabis (Indian Hemp) to western medicine as a treatment for convulsive diseases and tetanus (O’Shaughnessy, 1840).

At about the same time, French physician Jean-Jaques Moreau de Tours was doing his experimenting with the use of cannabis for mental disorders (Moreau de Tours, 1845).  In 1851 cannabis was included in the third edition of the USP (Pharmacopoeia of the United States). Ther revisions of the USP describes in detail how to prepare tinctures and extracts to be used as an anticonvulsant, analgesic, and hypnotic, from the dried cannabis flower (Russo, 2007; U.S. Pharmacopoeial Convention 1916).

But because of growing concern about cannabis, it resulted in the outlawing of marijuana in many states in the early 1900s, and in 1937 the federal prohibition of the drug with the Marijuana Tax Act passage. Because of the concerns, the American Medical Association removed cannabis from the twelfth edition of U.S. Pharmacopeia in 1942.

THC And Hemp

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive cannabinoid is the cannabinoid found in cannabis plants and causes the “high” feeling that is often the result of the marijuana plant. However, unlike the THC properties, CBD is not a psychoactive cannabinoid. Because there are no psychoactive properties, it makes CBD more appealing for those who are looking for an all-natural pain reliever without the symptoms of the mind-altering effects of marijuana or prescribed pharmaceutical opiates.

Extracting CBD from the cannabis plant is where CBD oil comes from, then diluting it with hemp seed oil or coconut oil. It is gaining recognition in the wellness and health world, with scientific studies of the CBD benefits to ease symptoms from anxiety and chronic pain.

We will give you seven benefits of CBD Hemp Oil that have had scientific proof with evidence of the beneficial properties.

CBD Can Relieve Pain

Recently discovered by scientists that specific properties of marijuana, including cannabidiol (CBD), are beneficial and responsible for its pain-relieving features.

The human body contains an endocannabinoid system (ECS), which regulates a variety of different functions, including pain, sleep, appetite, and immune system response. The body produces neurotransmitters (endocannabinoids) that bind to your nervous system through your cannabinoid receptors. Research has shown that CBD will help with chronic pain by impacting the endocannabinoid receptor activity, which, in return, reduces inflammation and interacts with the neurotransmitters.

One research with rats discovered that CBD injections reduced the pain response to the surgical incision. In another rat study, they found oral (sublingually) CBD treatment has reduced inflammation and sciatic nerve pain significantly.

Several studies on humans have found that CBD oil without the psychoactive ingredient THC is beneficial for treating pain related to multiple sclerosis and arthritis. CBD is approved in several countries for multiple sclerosis.

Summary

CBD is effective in reducing pain related to diseases like multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.

CBD Reduces Anxiety and Depression

Depression and anxiety are mental health issues that are common disorders that can have devastating impacts on a person’s health and well being. According to the World Health Organization, the most worldwide significant contributor to people on disability is depression, while anxiety issues are ranked sixth.

With prescription drugs, anxiety and depression is treatable but can cause many side effects, such as headaches, sexual dysfunctions, sleepiness, insomnia, and agitation. These prescribed medications, such as benzodiazepines, can be very addictive and could lead to substance abuse.

Many people who live with these anxiety and depression disorders have seen the benefits of CBD oil and have become interested in this all-natural approach.

In a Brazilian study, 57 men received oral CBD ninety minutes before they had presented a simulated public speaking test. This study found that a 300mg dose of CBD was the most beneficial at reducing anxiety during this study. Researchers have found that the 150mg dose of CBD and the 600mg dose have very little to no effect on anxiety.

CBD can act on the brain’s receptors for serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates social and mood behavior. Because of these qualities, CBD oil can treat anxiety and insomnia as well as post-traumatic stress disorder in children.

Summary

Using CBD is known to reduce anxiety and depression in both human and animal studies.

CBD Can Alleviate Cancer-Related Symptoms

CBD is beneficial through studies to help reduce cancer-related symptoms and side effects related to cancer treatment, like pain, nausea, and vomiting.

CBD also reduces chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, which is the most known symptoms for those chemotherapy-related side effects for cancer patients. Some patients find that their prescribed medications are ineffective, leading these patients to seek an alternative remedy.

Some research through test-tube and animal studies have even shown that CBD has anti-cancer properties. One example is a test-tube study that a concentrated CBD dosage increased cell death in human breast cancer cells. Another study on mice found that CBD inhibited the spreading of aggressive cancer cells.

Summary

Even though CBD is proven to reduce symptoms related to cancer and cancer treatments, and may also have cancer-fighting properties, more research is needed to assess all of CBD’s beneficial effects.

CBD Oil Can Reduce Acne

More than 9% of the population have a common skin condition known as acne. Acne is because of any of these several factors, such as bacteria, underlying inflammation, overproduction of sebum, genetics, or an oily secretion made by the sebaceous glands within the skin. Recent studies have shown that CBD oil will help treat acne because of the ability to reduce sebum production and because of the anti-inflammatory properties.

One research study found that CBD oil prevented the activation of “pro-acne” agents such as inflammatory cytokines, as well as exerted anti-inflammatory actions and from secreting excessive sebum.

They did another study in which it had similar findings, concluding that cannabidiol is a safe and efficient way to treat acne, which is because of its impressive anti-inflammatory properties.

Summary

CBD has beneficial effects on acne because of its ability to control the overproduction of sebum of the sebaceous glands and its anti-inflammatory properties.

CBD Oil May Have Neuroprotective Properties

Researchers believe that those with neurological disorders would benefit from CBD because of the CBD’s ability to act on the brain signaling systems and the endocannabinoid system.

A known fact is the most researched and studied uses for CBD is treating neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and epilepsy. Although research in this area is ongoing several research studies have had promising results.

One study with 214 patients with severe epilepsy 0.9-2.3 grams of Cannabinoid oil (CBD) per pound (2-5 g/kg) of body weight. Their seizure activity reduced by a median of 36.5%.

One other study done found that CBD oil notably reduced seizure activity in children with the Dravet Syndrome, a compound childhood epilepsy disorder, compared to a placebo.

CBD has also shown its potential benefits in treating many neurological diseases.

One example is several studies have shown that people with Parkinson’s disease that are using CBD Oil improve their sleep quality and their quality of life.

Another study of test-tube and animals have proven that CBD decreases inflammation and helps prevent the neurodegeneration that is associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

One long-term research on mice genetically predisposed to Alzheimer’s disease that, when given CBD, they found it helped prevent cognitive decline.

Summary

Though research at this time is limited. CBD has shown to ease symptoms related to epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. CBD has also shown to reduce the progression of Alzheimer’s disease in test-tube and animal studies.

CBD Oil Could Benefit Heart Health

Recent studies have linked CBD with many benefits for the heart and circulatory system, including the benefit of lowering high blood pressure. As we all know, high blood pressure can cause a person to be at a higher risk of various other health conditions such as heart attack, metabolic syndrome, or a stroke.

One recent study was of nine healthy men with one dosage of 600 mg of CBD oil and found that compared to a placebo, it reduced the resting blood pressure reading. The same study gave the men stress tests that usually increases blood pressure. Amazingly, a single dose of CBD had the men experiencing a smaller blood pressure increase than average in response to these tests.

Researchers have noticed that the stress and anxiety-reducing properties of CBD are responsible for its beneficial ability to lower the blood pressure.

Several animal studies have demonstrated that CBD helps reduce the cell death and inflammation associated with heart disease because of its stress-reducing properties and its powerful antioxidants.

For example, one study on diabetic mice with heart disease found that treatment with CBD reduced oxidative stress and prevented heart damage.

Summary

Though we could use more human studies, CBD is proven to benefit heart health in many ways, including preventing heart damage and reducing blood pressure.

CBD Has Several Other Potential Benefits

CBD is known for treating several health issues other than those outlined above.

Though more studies are needed, CBD can provide the following benefits:

Summary

Some studies have proven that CBD does help with diabetes, substance abuse, mental disorders, and certain types of cancers.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Though CBD is considered safe and generally well-tolerated, it may cause some adverse reactions, as in any drug, in some people.

Some noted side effects are:

  • Fatigue
  • Changes in appetite
  • Diarrhea

CBD can also have an interaction with several prescribed medications.

So before you start using CBD oil, discuss it with your physician to avoid potentially harmful interactions, and ensure your safety.

Consulting your physician is especially important if you take medications or supplements that come with a “grapefruit warning.”

Summary

Although CBD is considered safe: It can cause an adverse reaction like fatigue and diarrhea in some people. It can also interfere with certain prescribed medications or health supplements.

The Bottom Line

CBD oil is known for its beneficial role in easing symptoms of many common health conditions, including depression, anxiety, heart disease, and acne.

It also provides cancer patients with a natural alternative for symptom and pain relief.

Research is an ongoing process on the potential health benefits of CBD oil, so they are discovering new therapeutic uses for this all-natural remedy every day.

Though there is much to be learned about the efficacy of CBD, results from recent studies suggest that CBD can provide a robust and safe all-natural treatment for many health conditions.
