What Does CBD Oil Do? Conquers Substance Abuse

CBD Oil Conquers Substance Abuse

According to statistics from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 21.5 million American adults battled a substance abuse disorder. Also, the statistic does not include friends or family who suffer due to the user’s addiction(s). A hot topic that has very much been in the news lately is opioid abuse. People don’t only suffer individually, but it also affects our country as a whole. Finally, drug addiction and abuse cost approximately $200 billion a year. These costs are in criminal justice, lost workplace production costs, and healthcare.  The Office of National Drug Control Policy determined these costs. Finally, research suggests Cannabidiol oil may assist those battling drug addiction.

There is a lack of adequate and safe treatments for the growing number of people suffering from opioid use disorder. CBD is a promising, safe alternative. Cannabidiol reduced addictive behavior in a rat study entitled, “Cannabidiol a non-psychotropic component of cannabis inhibits cue-induced heroin-seeking and normalizes discrete mesolimbic neuronal disturbances.” According to another study, CBD can also get in the way of the brain’s reward system responding to opioids, morphine, and heroin.

Finally, if you would like or need to kick an addiction, then give CBD a try. It could change your life and the ones around you for the better.
