Research has shown that CBD can reduce or eliminate arthritis pain by reducing inflammation. Also, cannabidiol treats a variety of ailments relating to chronic pain. Finally, today, we will focus on arthritis.
The two most prevalent forms of arthritis are Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis. Arthritis affects over 50 million people in the United States. Finally, arthritis is the number one cause of disability.
In today’s world, it is difficult to obtain adequate pain relief. CBD oil is a useful alternative approach to managing arthritis pain.
A 2011 study entitled, “The abnormal cannabidiol analog O-1602 reduces nociception in a rat model of acute arthritis via the putative cannabinoid receptor GPR55”, discovered CBD assisted in reducing inflammatory pain. Finally, the study was done on rodents by affecting the way pain receptors respond to stimuli.
Another review in 2014 titled, “Involvement of the endocannabinoid system in osteoarthritis pain”, found that the body of existing research on animals showed that CBD is effective in treating Osteoarthritis.
Also, a 2016 study called, “Transdermal cannabidiol reduces inflammation and pain-related behaviors in a rat model of arthritis”, found that the topical application of CBD had the potential to relieve pain and inflammation associated with arthritis.
Finally, the 2017 study, “Attenuation of early phase inflammation by cannabidiol prevents pain and nerve damage in rat osteoarthritis”, found that CBD might be a safe and useful treatment for Osteoarthritis joint pain. As you can see, progress is being made year after year to prove the benefits of CBD on arthritis.
In conclusion, the effectiveness of CBD on arthritis will differ from one person to another. Talk to your doctor to work out the right balance of CBD, self-care, and other medications you currently take. Research has shown CBD may work better than traditional medicines you have been using.
